The 7280SE is a family of ultra deep packet buffer, highly scalable and feature rich, purpose built fixed configuration switches. Built on the same proven technology as the the flagship modular Arista 7500E Series, the 7280E Series offers 10, 40, and 100 Gigabit Ethernet port speeds in configurations that are designed for Leaf or Top of Rack (ToR) switches in smaller deployments of two-tier data center networks or as the edge of large service provider and mission critical networks.

With 9GB of ultra deep buffer and a virtual output queue architecture, each switch is designed to deliver lossless forwarding under the most intensive workloads. Each share a common system design with dual power supplies, in a choice of AC and DC; redundant hot swap fans with both forward or reverse airflow, and its designed for NEBS environments in both Service Providers or content provider networks.

Arista EOS Data Analyzer and Latency Analyzer features, combined with the 7280SE series, provide advanced monitoring and visibility tools at 10, 40 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet speeds. Tap aggregation with Arista’s Data Analyzer or DANZ provides flexible and powerful traffic analysis that enables the accurate determination of application performance in real time.

The 7280SE-68 supports 2 100 Gigabit Ethernet ports with 2 QSFP100 interfaces. The QSFP100 ports support a wide choice of 100G, 40G and even 10G optics and cabling choices, providing unprecedented flexibility for 100G at the leaf. With QSFP100 optics, the 7280SE-68 can support both multimode and single mode optics with distances of up to 10km. This means that connecting between remote datacenters over long distance, expanding content peering locations, aggregating broadband networks or scaling up research and academic networks to 100G has never been easier or more cost-effective.

The 7280SE has high performance VXLAN support for expanding network virtualization in next generation data centers.
