2017 was disastrous for farmers in India. This inspired two students who study Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering at VIT-Chennai Campus to find a solution. Seeing that AI could offer it, they developed a method to detect crop pests through thermal imaging using Intel® OpenVINO™ technology. Named Kishan Know, their technology has proven effective—and at less than $1, it’s extremely affordable. With AI, students can become the next generation of innovators.
