This vlog discusses the limitations of traditional methods of implementing SONiC in a chassis (as it was originally designed for fixed systems) and how Juniper has created innovations in SONiC to take full advantage of a chassis implementation. This allows users to take SONiC beyond fixed system IP fabric deployments and provide a better fit for use cases in the data center and WAN edge. By bringing SONiC to multi-PFE cassis, we provide a simpler, better-performing network solution for the most demanding cloud and service provider environments—without sacrificing the flexibility of an open, disaggregated NOS.
