Replay of the CA Release Automation community webcast held on February 2, 2017.

Abstract:
User authentication is an important aspect of DevTest. Access control (ACL) is the mechanism that DevTest uses to authenticate users and enforce roles. It helps control access to the various features of DevTest by the users. This is especially critical when multiple teams are involved. We can also choose to manage the authentication for DevTest through LDAP, especially if an LDAP or Active Directory system is already available. This DevTest LDAP Integration ensures integration into an existing user management system. Benefits of this integration are

There is no need to manually add users to the ACL database or assign role to each user. When we use LDAP, ACL is automatically populated with user details and we can control role assignment only for users who LDAP authenticates.
Using LDAP integration makes it easier to manage users, especially for large organizations. Organizations having existing LDAP/Active Directory installation can benefit immensely from this feature.
Password management will be handled by the LDAP administrator centrally and there is no need for password management by the ACL admin.

As part of this session we learn more about the DevTest LDAP integration and the required configuration.
