PAN-OS and Panorama 6.0, announced on Tuesday the 14th and available for download the week of Jan 20th, bring significant enhancements to WildFire that not only extend file type and operating system coverage, but also bring added reporting and forensics tools to further automate the creation and delivery of protection against sophisticated cyber attacks.

These new features strengthen our ability to better detect sophisticated attacks, effectively creating a highly automated and scalable "closed loop" approach that is unique to our security platform. This approach begins with positive security controls to reduce the attack surface; inspects all traffic, ports, and protocols to block all known threats; rapidly detects unknown threats; then, automatically employs new protections back to the front line to ensure previously unknown threats are known to all and blocked. Other new features include:

·Threat prevention: Improved visibility into applications such as DNS that are used to mask threat activities.
· URL filtering: More controls over common policy evasion techniques; support for safe search.
· SSL Decryption: More tools to manage encrypted traffic with hardware module support and port mirroring.
· VM-Series: Accelerating virtualization efforts with more automation and expanded platform support.
· GlobalProtect: New device management features, the GP-100 platform and advanced malware features allow customers to securely enable mobile computing.
