Broadcom Smart Gate Drive Optocouplers’ Evolution

Broadcom gate drive optocouplers come in wide range of output current from 0.4A to 10A. These optically-isolated devices are optimized for driving IGBT, Power and SiC/GaN MOSFET, exhibiting rail-to-rail output, fast gate switching speed, high CMR and reinforced insulation. These gate drivers are ideal for use in motor control and power conversion applications where the microcontroller and user need to be isolated and protected from high voltages.

The highly integrated smart gate drive optocouplers provides integrated protection features such as Active Miller Clamp, under voltage lockout, fault and UVLO status feedback and desaturation detection. 10A Gate Drive Optocoupler with Integrated FAULT Protection & Feedback in 600V CTI SO16 Package

The ACPL-355JC is a 10A gate drive optocoupler device with an integrated fail-safe IGBT and SiC MOSFET diagnostics, protection and fault reporting. The device features common mode transient immunity (CMTI) greater than 100 kV/μs and provides minimal propagation delay with excellent timing skew. The ACPL-339J is an advanced 1A dual-output, easy-to-use, intelligent IGBT and Power MOSFET gate drive optocoupler interface. Uniquely designed to support MOSFET buffer of various current ratings, the ACPL-339J makes it easier for system engineers to support different system power ratings using one hardware platform by interchanging the MOSFET buffers and power IGBT/MOSFET switches.
