"In Britain, over 91% residential and enterprise users are enjoying 30 Mbit/s or higher bandwidth. Now, Openreach has been testing the new Long Reach VDSL2 technology and attempts to service 30 Mbit/s bandwidth for users in rural areas. It also trials and deploys G.fast at curb locations to provide 330 Mbit/s ultra-bandwidth for users. With the largest fiber to the premises (FTTP) network in Britain, Openreach is set to increase the number of FTTP users to 2 million by 2020.

At Broadband World Forum 2016, Openreach and Huawei jointly launched Europe's first FOA for TWDM PON, XGS-PON, and GPON transmission over the same fiber. This fiber can deliver a total capacity of 52.5 Gbit/s, meeting ultra-bandwidth requirements of University of Suffolk in their research. Thanks to these innovations, Openreach is going to provide better broadband services in Britain."
